Going to jail over spilled coke
Natalie Walters could face up to 6 months in prison for spilled coke. Sounds amazing doesn't it? She was in a hospital cafeteria and asked for a refill on her coke. She was charged $3.80, 3 times the usual amount for a refill.
When the clerk refused to charge her less, and refused to refund her money, Natalie poured the coke on the counter and floor in defiance. So what did the hospital do? Dug through her fathers medical records to find her contact information, then filed a criminal complaint.
When U.S. Attorney Tom Moss heard about the case, he was thrilled and is pursuing the charges vigorously. I guess all the murderers, rapists and all the other real criminals are already in prison. U.S. Attorney Tom Moss's office wouldn't comment on the case until after Walters'arraignment.
The criminal complaint says she is guilty of "intentionally pouring soft drink beverage from a large mug over the cash register and onto the floor during a disagreement with the cashier over payment". I'm not sure what law she broke, but they're trying hard to find something. More.
